Another $100......

Yes, it was another trip to the vet! Seems the last trip might not have been fleas - seems Leia might have something similar to hives. A couple of new spots popped up on her hind quarters and they are even a bit infected so she is on antibiotics and steroids again and hopefully this will be the ticket to clearing up whatever is going on with her.

This is her night sleeping spot - on the family room couch. During the day she stays in her crate but at night she is allowed to roam the family room and this is the spot she has adopted. About 9:50 every evening she wants in her spot - time to go to bed!

Not much else new in the family - just work, school, school, work....know how that is? See you again soon!

Finally!

Doesn't it seem like it's been months since we have had any new, halfway decent, TV programs to watch?? Well it has been too long - due to the writers strike that ended the season early last year so I am planning on making up for lost time! Yes, I am an admitted couch potato. But only in the evening - during the day I rarely turn TV on. But this week and for the next few weeks I will be following what the TV tells me - National Stay at Home week and that's where I'll be - in front of the TV every evening from 8-10 (or 11). Heroes last night was great! And today I have to catch up on my DVR-ed Dancing with the Stars! What shows are you looking forward to?

An exciting week in Toledo

So I didn't make it to see the action but this past week held a lot of excitement in next door Toledo - filming of a future episode of Extreme Makeover Home Edition! I had really wanted to go check it our and get some pics to scrap but with work, school, a weekend out of town at a Close To My Heart event and some rain (thanks to Ike) I never got the chance. Now I will have to wait and just see the episode on TV in November.

Another day....another vet bill

So we noticed Leia was getting a couple of sore spots on the insides of her back legs...looking a little raw and pink. So off to the vet we go and the diagnosis - fleas! And we give her flea meds regularly, once a month. Well we find out that the fleas are bad this year - we live in a tree-sy area - and the Frontline is just not making the grade. Unless you apply it every 2-3 weeks. Which we weren't. So she started a new flea med and she doesn't like these things anyone (they make her a little weird - she paces the house and just seems out of sorts) and she is on a medication to help with the inflammation on her legs. Oh, the side effect? Makes her drink and pee more - Greeeaatttt!!!!

$115 later and hopefully we all sleep through the night without a potty run.

Otherwise, the day was fairly uneventful. Jacob is geeked cause Star Wars Unleashed was released on PS3 today so of course we ran out and got the last copy at Circuit City tonight. Why is it my kids can never wait and always have to have things on opening day?? (I'm just as bad - they get it from me honestly).

Do we need another blog?

Well, not really. But they're fun and well, why not? I actually decided that I need to dedicate my other blog (On Life and Creating) to more creative things and less chatter. So this is the place for the random ramblings that I know you're gonna love! We'll share stories, ideas, musings...whatever comes to mind. Like sitting around in our pjs, having a cup of cocoa and watching chick flix...that's this blog.

So where did I get the title Ridiculous Lab? It's a phrase my son Jacob was using today as he was once again wondering what our crazy dog was up to. Yeah, she can be pretty ridiculous. But smart too - sometimes too smart for her own good! Jacob thought the phrase would be a good rock band name...too bad! It's a blog name now!!! No, he was actually just kidding but I do like it - and it describes my pet quite well.

Speaking of my adorable furbaby, she is probably off to the vet tomorrow as she seems to have a rash or a skin thing going on. Hey she hasn't been there in a month or so, I guess it's time. Yes she seems to have something going on with her more often than a "normal" pet so we see the vet every once in awhile. Maybe I should start inviting him over for dinner.
